Rainbow Romance Writers (RRW) is the only organization dedicated to supporting professional LGBTQIA2S+ romance authors. We work to increase visibility for all LGBTQIA2S+ romance, enhance industry professionalism, and expand market reach.

- Indicate interest in joining RRW (checkbox)
- Pay invoice from RRW for membership dues
- Complete your author profile
Detailed Process:
Join RWA First RRW operates as an RWA chapter, leveraging their infrastructure and industry influence to support our specialized market. RWA membership provides access to professional advocacy, industry connections, educational resources, and a network of experienced authors.
RRW Membership Annual dues: $30 (January-June) or $15.00 (July-December)
Renewals are due in January regardless of join date.
Author Profile Setup Your profile includes three sections:
- Private: Legal name and contact details (administrative use only)
- Public: Professional bio, headshot, social media, titles, and appearances
- Forum: Member-only details about your works in progress and interests
Once payment is processed, your public profile goes live and you gain access to member forums.
All information in your private section remains confidential. We understand the importance of privacy for LGBTQIA2S+ romance authors and maintain strict confidentiality standards.
HOW TO JOIN THE ROMANCE WRITERS OF AMERICA
To join Rainbow Romance Writers, you must first be a member of Romance Writers of America (RWA). RWA membership is one of the most powerful tools in an author’s arsenal, providing essential industry insights, professional networks, and career development resources.

Remember: Your RWA membership number is required to complete your Rainbow Romance Writers application. Join RWA first, then apply for RRW membership.
Becoming a Member
Our goal is to make the process of becoming a member as easy as possible. Here are a series of screen shots that will walk you through the membership process. Start by going to the RWA website and logging into your member account.
Once logged in, you need to navigate to: https://rwa.memberclicks.net/rrw#/
Once on the RWA website, please complete the RRW Chapter Membership Request from.
At the bottom, you’ll see the Membership Selection. You have three options:
- I am interested in joining
- I want to renew my chapter membership
- I do not wish to renew my chapter membership
Please ensure that you select the appropriate option.
Then click the Next button a the bottom of the screen.
The next screen shows you the information that you have filled out. Double check all of the information to ensure its accuracy. Once you are satisfied with the information, please click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the screen. If you are not satisfied, please click “Previous” to fix any mistakes.
The final page will be the Confirmation page. This just lets you know that the process has been completed.
Once RWA processes your Chapter Membership Request, they will let Rainbow Romance Writers know that you’ve requested to become a chapter. We will then send you an invoice directly for your membership dues.
Rainbow Romance Writers is currently banking with Crowded, so we will send you an invoice directly from their website, so be on the look out for that email.
